Introduction

The Annapurna is one of the most attractive Himalayan Panoramic view, situated in central part of Nepal, just north of Pokhara. The range from west to east consists of Annapurna south face 7219m, Annapurna I 8091m, Himchuli 6441m, Gangapurna 7455m, Annapurna III 7555m, Fishtail 6997m, Annapurna IV 7525, Annapurna II 7925m and so on. The trek is not so difficult comparatively to others. Early autumn or late spring season is the best suitable for Annapurna trek.

1st Day: Pokhara – Phedi – Pothna (820m – 1890m) Drive takes about 45 Minutes to Phedi. After Phedi, trekking trail heads climbing very straightly on a stone staircase. Passes several villages and reaches Pothna 1890m. Walking time takes approximately 4 hours, overnight at camp.

2nd Days: Pothna to Landrug (1890m – 1640m) At the place of Pothna one can ascend about one hour to Deurali. From there, trail leads downwards through the forest. After descending, mountain path leads flat and passes several villages and reaches Landrung (1640m). Walking time takes approximately 5 hours, overnight at camp.

3rd Day: Landrung – Sinuwa (1640m – 2340m) After short walk, crosses Modi River through the wooden bridge, trail ascends through the place of Jhinudanda to Chomrong (1780). From Chomrong on can descend and can cross Chomrong River. Again ascends through bamboo forest and reaches Sinuwa (3240m). Walking time takes about 6 hours, overnight at camp.

4th Day: Sinuwa – Himalayan Hotel (2340m – 2870m) At the place of the Sinuwa, one can follow up soft path through the bamboo forest to the place of bamboo. After there, trail leads ascending through the deep bamboo forest after crossing Doban and Himalayan Hotel. Walking time takes about 5 hours overnight at camp.

5th Day: Himalayan Hotel – Machhapuchhre Base camp (2870m – 3700m) From Himalayan Hotel, trail leads continuously ascending through the bank of Modi River after crossing place of Deurali comes Machhapuchhre Base camp. Walking time takes about 4 hours overnight at camp.

6th Day: Machhapuchhre Base camp – Annapurna Base Camp (3700m – 4130m) Ascending a path along asteam through the center of lateral moraine finally reveals Annapurna I (8091m). From there, one can pass along the grass covered area of Annapurna Base Camp. Walking time takes approximately 2 hours, overnight at camp.

7th Day: Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo (4130m – 2340m) From Annapurna Base Camp, descends rapidly through the some trail after crossing the place of Machhapuchhre Base camp, Deurali, Himalayan Hotel, Doban and comes Bamboo. Walking time takes approximately 6 hours, overnight at camp.

8th Day: Bamboo – Chmorung (2340m – 2170m) At the place of Bamboo, backs from the some descending and ascending through the Bamboo forest. Walking time takes 5 hours, overnight at camp.

9th Day: Chmorung – Ghandrung (2170m – 1940m) To reach Ghandrug from Chmorong, trail leads descending to the place of Khumnu River (1780m). After crossing suspension bridge one can climb out of the Khumby valley, the mountain path step climbs Tilluri (2220m). After passing the trail, descends through huge boulders to a small creek and drops gently along the maze of trail in Ghandrug. Walking time takes about 6 hours overnight at camp.

10th Day: Ghandrung – Pokhara (1940m – 820m) At the place of Ghandrug trail leads to Nayapul, the route almost descending and flat through the bank of Modi River and passes several villages such as Kimle, Shyauli Bazaar and Birethani and comes Nayapul. Walking times takes about 5 hours, after Nayapul drives back to Pokhara.

1st Day: Pokhara – Hile (820m – 1490m) From Pokhara to Nayapul, it takes about 1 ½ hour by driving. The road is reasonably good. At the place of Nayapul, within short walk, one can cross suspension bridge. After that, follows up bank of Modi River to Birethanti. From there mountain trail leads through bamboo forest and passes a large waterfall-summing hole. The trail stays on the north bank of Bhurundi River to Bajagara.
Beyond a pasture used by Pony caravans, the trail reaches Sudami then climbs steadily up through the valley reaching Hile (1495m). Walking time takes about 5 hours, overnight at camp.

2nd Day: Hile – Ghorepani (1490m – 2850m) From the place of Hile, after a short walk the trail crosses a steam on suspension bridge and it leads the climb very steeply on a stone staircase. It continues steeply to the large village of Uleri at 2070m. From there one can see first eye catching mountain views of Annapurna south (7219m), Himchuli (6440m) and Fishtail (6996m). After these the trail leady through deep magnificent oak And Rhododendron forest till Ghorepani (2850m). Walking time takes about 7 hours over night at camp.

3rd Day: Ghorepani – Tadapani (2850 – 2590m) At the place of Ghorepani to Poonhill, trail leads climbing very steeply on a stone staircase. Walking time takes about 1½ hour to the top. From the Poonhill, one can see view of Sunrise and breath taking mountains views such as Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, and Annapurna south, Himchuli, Annapurna III, Fishtail, Annapurna IV, and Annapurna II and so on. After Poonhill ascends to Ghorepani from there to Tadapani mountain trail leads several times ascending and descending. It passes several villages through oak and Rhododendron forest. Walking times takes approximately 6 hours, overnight at camp.

4th Day: Tadapani – Chmorung (2590m – 2170m) At the place of Tadapani, the trail goes almost ascending and descending through the several villages to Chmorung. Walking time takes about 5 hours overnight at camp.

5th Day: Chmorung – Bamboo (2170m – 2340m) At the place of Chmorung trail leads descends to Chmorung rover. After crosses it trail leads ascends to Bamboo through the bamboo forest. Walking time takes about 5 hours overnight at camp.

6th Day: Bamboo – Himalayan Hotel (2340m – 2870m) At the place of the Bamboo, one can follows up soft path through the bamboo forest to place of bamboo. After there trail leads ascending through the deep bamboo forest after crossing Doban and Himalayan Hotel. Walking time takes about 4 hours overnight at camp.

7th Day: Himalayan Hotel – Machhapuchhre Base camp (2870m - 3700m) From Himalayan Hotel, trail leads continuously ascending through the bank of Modi River after crossing place of Deurali comes Machhapuchhre Base camp. Walking time takes about 4 hours overnight at camp.

8th Day: Machhapuchhre Base camp – Annapurna Base Camp (3700m - 4130m) Ascending a path along a steam through the center of lateral moraine finally reveals Annapurna I (8091m). 11th Day: Chmorung – Ghandrung (2170m – 1940m) To reach Ghandrung from Chmorong leads descending until place of Khumnu River (1780m) after crossing suspension bridge one can climb out of the Khumby valley, the mountain path step climbs Tilluri (2220m). After passing the trail, descends through huge boulders to a small creek and drops gently into the maze of trail in Ghandrung. Walking time takes about 6 hours overnight at camp.

12th Day: Ghandrung – Nayapul Pokhara (1940m – 820m) At the place of Ghandrug trail leads to Nayapul, the route almost descending and flat through the bank of Modi River and passes several villages such as Kimle, Shyauli Bazaar and Birethani and comes Nayapul. Walking times takes about 5 hours, after Nayapul drives back to Pokhara.

1st Day: Kathmandu – Besisahar (760m) From Kathmandu drive takes about 8 hours to Besisahar, overnight at Besisahar (760m).

2nd Day: Besisahar – Bahundanda (760m - 1310m) At the place of Besisahar, the trail drops to a stream on a rough rock staircase to Bhalam Khola. After crossing it the trail leads several up and down, crosses rice paddies and subtropical forests through place of Khudi, Bhulbhule, Ngadi and reaches Bahundanda. Walking time takes about 6 hours, overnight at camp.

3rd Day: Bahundanda – Chamje (1310m – 1430m) From the Bahundanda, trail descends on a step after a passing several villages such as Lili Bir, Kaigoun, Ghermu pnant, the trail drops to cross the Marsyandi river and through Jagat reaches Chamje. Total walking time takes about 6 hours, overnight at camping site.

4th Day: Chamje – Dharapani (1430m – 1920m) From Chamje crossing the Marsyandi River to the east bank and follows the trail along the river embankment. After that the trail passes under an overhanging rock and climbs a rock staircase. It passes several villages such as Tal Besi, Tal Karte and reaches Dharapani. Walking time takes about 5 hours, overnight at camp.

5th Day: Dharapani – Chame (1920m _ 2630m) At the place of Dharapani, the route crosses several landslides and leads uphill through the forest. It passes the other places along Lattemarang, Kotho and coming Chame. Walking time takes 6 hours, overnight at camp.

6th Day: Chame – Pisang (2630m – 3190m) From Chame trekking trail leads continuously through the bank of Marsyandi River. It passes Bharatang and comes Pisang. Walking time takes about 5 hours, overnight at camp.

7th Day: Pisang – Manag (3190m – 3500m) From Pisang, one can follow very soft trail to Manang through the place of Hongde, Mungji, Bryaga and reaches Manag. Walking time takes about 4 hours, overnight at camp.

8th Day: Manag – Acclimatization Day

9th Day: Manag – Letdar (3500m – 4250m) At the place of Manag trail leads continuously ascending to Letdar through several places such as Tergi, Gunsang, Yak Kharka and one can enter to Letdar. Walking time takes approximately 5 hours, overnight at camp.

10th Day: Letdar – Thrungphedi (4250m – 4420m) From Letdar, the mountain path leads continuously to climb along the east bank of the Jarjung Khola, after crossing through wooden bridge. The path makes a short ascent and comes to Thrungphedi. Walking time takes about 3 hours, overnight at camp.

11th Day: Thrungphedi – Muktinath (4420m – 3800m) The trail is steep immediately after leaving Thrungphedi, continuously through the high camp cross-moraines up to pass (Thorung La). Thorung La, with its traditional, chorent, prayer flag and stone cairn, are at an elevation of 5416m. After Thorung La trail leads all the way of descending to Muktinath (3800m). Walking time takes about 8 hours, overnight at camp.

12th Day: Muktinath – Jomsom (3800m – 2750m) At the place of Muktinath, one can back through the same trail to Jomsom. Walking time takes approximately 5 hours, overnight at camp.

13th Day: Jomsom – Tukuche (2750m – 2590m) From Jomsom trekking trail leads to Tukuche, through the place of Marpha reaches Tukuche. Walking time takes about 4 hours, overnight at camp.

14th Day: Tukuche – Ghasa (2590m – 2010m) From Tukche trail leads easy path through bank of kali Gandaki River to Kalopani. After there, trail descending through the place of Lete village and enter to Ghasa. Walking time takes about 5 hrs, over night at camp.

15th Day: Ghasa – Tatopani (2010m – 1190m) From Ghasa, Mountain trail leads almost descending to beautiful waterfalls of Rupsachhara. After that, it passes several villages reaches Tatopani. , Walking time takes approximately 5 hours, overnight at camp.

16th Day: Tatopani – Ghorepani (1190m – 2850m) At the place of Tatopani, after a short walk one can crosses Kali Gandaki River Bridge. From there trail leads climbing very steeply on the stone staircase. The climb continues steeply to the large village of Ghara, Shikha, and finally through the Rhododendron forest reaches Ghorepani. Walking time takes about 8 hours, overnight at camp.

17th Day: Ghorepani – Tadapani (2850m – 2590m) At the place of Ghorepani to Poonhill, trail leads climbing very steeply on a stone staircase. Walking time takes about 1½ hour to the top. From the Poonhill, one can see view of Sunrise and breath taking mountains views such as Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, and Annapurna south, Himchuli, Annapurna III,
Fishtail, Annapurna IV, and Annapurna II and so on. After Poonhill ascends to Ghorepani from there to Tadapani mountain trail leads several times ascending and descending. It passes several villages through oak and Rhododendron forest. Walking times takes approximately 6 hours, overnight at camp.

18th Day: Tadapani – Ghandrung (2590m – 1940m) Trail leads to Ghandrug from Tadapani all the way of descending and flat through the oak and Rhododendron Forest. Walking times takes about 3 hours over night at camp.

19th Day: Ghandrung – Pokhara (1940m -820m) At the place of Ghandrug, trail leads to Nayapul, the route almost descending and flat through the bank of Modi River and passes several villages such as Kimle, Shyauli Bazaar and Birethani and comes to Nayapul. Walking times takes about 5 hours after Nayapul drives back to Pokhara.

5th Day: Ghandrung – Nayapul – Pokhara At the place of Ghandrug trail leads to Nayapul, the route almost descending and flat through the bank of Modi River and passes several villages such as Kimle, Shyauli Bazzar, and Birethani and comes Nayapul. Walking times takes about 5 hours, after Nayapul drives back to Pokhara.

1st Day: Pokhara – Jomsom – Tukuche (820m – 2590m) At the place of Pokhara one can fly to Jomsom (2750m). After that trekking trail leads to Tukuche, through the place of Marpha reaches Tukuche (2590m). Walking time takes about 4 hours, overnight at camp.

2nd Day: Tukuche to Ghasa (2590m – 2010m) From Tukche trail leads easy path through bank of kali Gandaki River to Kalopani. After there, trail descending through the place of Lete village and enter to Ghasa. Walking time takes about 5 hrs, over night at camp.
